OUR HISTORY:  Founded in 1927 by four American women married to Dutch men, the American Women’s Club of Amsterdam has a long tradition of helping American women feel at home in the Netherlands.

AFFILIATION:  AWCA is a member of FAWCO, the Federation of American Women’s Clubs Overseas. FAWCO is a worldwide, non-partisan organization that strives to bring together more than 17,000 women in 35 countries (including FAWCO Alumni USA) to inform them on matters of common interest and to work out their particular challenges of living abroad. FAWCO also has status as a non-governmental organization (NGO) with the United Nations.  For more information on FAWCO, visit their website at www.fawco.org.

MEETINGS:  General Meetings are typically held the first Thursday of the month, September to June in the center of Amsterdam. We also have a range of monthly activities in our four geographic areas:  Amsterdam, ’t Gooi, Haarlem, and Lakeland.

MEMBERSHIP:  It's simple! Come to the next AWCA meeting as our guest. In order to be considered for membership you must be an American, or have an American partner, or have a demonstrable link to the USA, or have been a member of another FAWCO member club.  Contact our Membership Director for more information.
